Description
Khatmi Seeds, commonly known as Marsh Mallow is one of the important medicinal plant used in Unani medicine. Khatmi is a perennial plant with light brown colored, long and thick root, ovate-cordate, slightly toothed leaves and pale pink or pale purple colored flowers. Khatmi Seeds is a perennial, uniformly downy herb occurring in Kashmir region.
The seeds are small to moderate size, approximately 6 mm, usually brownish black, reniform, rugose, hairy at margins; become mucilaginous when soaked in water. It’s been used as a folk remedy for thousands of years to treat digestive, respiratory, and skin conditions.
